About the Role
The Fitter interprets mechanical drawings and assembles components and sub-assemblies aboard ships, ensuring proper fit, function, and adherence to technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documents
Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and full mechanical units using hand and power tools
Fit and align parts to ensure proper function and tolerances
Conduct functional and quality checks on completed assemblies
Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues and take corrective actions
Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve assembly processes
Candidate Requirements
ITI Fitter
Familiarity with hydraulic or pneumatic systems
