About the Role
The Fitter interprets mechanical drawings and assembles components and sub-assemblies aboard ships, ensuring proper fit, function, and adherence to technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documents
- Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and full mechanical units using hand and power tools
- Fit and align parts to ensure proper function and tolerances
- Conduct functional and quality checks on completed assemblies
- Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues and take corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve assembly processes
Requirements
- ITI Fitter
- Familiarity with hydraulic or pneumatic systems
