About the Role
Responsible for servicing electrical and automation systems on ships, including PLC programming, HMI systems, and main switchboard panels.
Key Responsibilities
- Service electrical and automation systems on ships
- Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems
- Modify and troubleshoot main switchboard (MSB) and starter panels
- Select, install, and control VFDs; perform power cable terminations
- Create electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams, and termination drawings
- Generate MTOs for electrical systems based on design specifications
- Use AutoCAD for reading and creating electrical drawings
- Handle site installation jobs with physical endurance and time management
- Communicate progress in English; work under pressure during limited port stays
- Undergo training for IMOS patented product installations
- Relocate and travel on short notice for ship calls
Requirements
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Experience with PLC programming and HMI systems
- Knowledge of MSB and starter panel modification and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with VFD selection, installation, and power cable terminations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design
- Experience with shipboard systems: boiler panels, AMS-PMS, MSBGSP, fire detection, PAGA, tank gauging, valve control
